Jeaniology for the Curvy Girl

I was discussing jeans with a girl here at work and it led me to do another google search for curvy jeans. I've done this search time and again but I never really find the information I'm looking for. See, I'm tall and thick and have a horrendous time finding jeans that fit the way I want them to:

• long enough to cover my shoes but not drag on the ground
• flattering shape
• lifting slightly in the butt
• pockets proportional to my cheek size
• not so low that they give me muffin top

Most of the Junior size 13s are too short--I'm 5'11"--and too snug and the Missy sizes are never available in the styles I like. I tried Applebottoms and they were okay--cute pockets--except they stretched out right away and i had to keep tugging on them the rest of the day to keep them...and they had no belt loops so I couldn't even cinch 'em. There is no shape recovery in them at all!

I've even thought I needed to bite the bullet and jump the fence to Plus sizes (its hard to do that when you're on the cusp...there's a sense of denial there). But the 14s are too loose and the crotch is super long! What do they think I'm packin in there?! So, I figured I'd bring this dilemma to the table and see what kind of responses I can get. Maybe there are more girls my size that have the answers! Can someone please tell me this... Where can I find the perfect jean?

Fun'topia!

Another day of work completely wasted on the internet... why is my brain so against the idea of focusing on what I am supposed to be doing? Ah well...

So...This Friday marks the 2nd annual Looptopia. It sounded interesting last year so my friend and I have decided to check it out this weekend, despite predections of thunderstorms and chilly wind. However, those reports have led me to one exciting idea: I can wear my rain boots!! I have one pair that I don't particularly like and they are a size too big. But if I can get a new pair in time I am SO wearing them. I hope they're comfortable because we'll be doing a lot of walking. There are so many adorable choices at Target, its hard to choose which I like best. I think I've narrowed it down to 3, but then I go back to the list and find more I like! How do I choose?

Virtual Shopaholic

Ok, so I've spent almost the entire day online shopping for items to add to my wardrobe that coordinate with each other. I add things to my Kaboodle and then c&p them onto a page in Word to make sure they match. Its easier than trying to organize it right away in Kaboodle. I'm so addicted! I want all this stuff for summer! I need new clothes badly and these would be perfect!

My neverending Sweet Tooth

So, I'm trying to be good this week and eat right so I can drop a few pounds. I made steamed veggies and grilled chicken for dinner last night and ate the leftovers for lunch. But then I get to mid afternoon and I'm heading straight for the brownies in the kitchen. They're small, about 2 sq. inches. But they are so unbelievably good that I have to go back for more! I just had my 2nd one and I am so ready to go back in the kitchen. I have no willpower.

So...what do I want today? Gotta have sweet!!

Ok so the name of the bakery is a little off, but I stared at this picture of the cakes for at least 10 minutes this morning, salivating thanks to Oh Joy! blog. That must've been what put the sugary evil in my head in the first place!

These are just some really delicious looking treats. Where can I get these!? I might have to start baking when I get home instead of working out today.

Rain & Rubber

I seem to be obsessed with rubber rain boots. I browse them online at least once a week. Spring should be well on its way now so we're bound to get some rain and I know I want a new pair of rain boots. But I can't seem to decide which ones I like best. I've narrowed it down to the following candidates.

Cover me in Tiffany's

My beloved Tiffany & Co. has created new designs! I'm well overdue for a little blue box. My Return to Tiffany charm bracelet from 2002 has lost its luster. I think a pendant would get much more wear nowadays. Not too chunky, just a simple charm on a chain that I could wear everyday.

I love the Tiffany 1837™ Circles pendant! Seems like a good gift to get from a boyfriend. Guess I won't be getting this one anytime soon. ha!
